Guillen worried about Jenks
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) --Bobby Jenks is having a rocky spring and White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen is concerned about his struggling closer. Jenks' ERA ballooned to 10.50 for his five spring games after he allowed three runs and three hits in two innings of Chicago's 10-9 victory over San Francisco on Wednesday.

"I worry about Bobby. If you are not ready one week and a half before the season starts, you have problems," Guillen said. "If you are not ready to this point, and you are not in condition to start the season right now, you have to dig in and start pushing yourself to get better." Jenks, who had 41 saves a year ago in his first full season, gave up three runs to the Chicago Cubs in his previous outing. "I am not saying he is not my closer, but I want to see better stuff," Guillen said. Jenks' spring started out poorly, coming out of his first game after nine pitches with tightness in his right shoulder. He has not reached his 97 mph fastball with regularity and his control has been off, walking seven and striking out two in six innings. "It is easy when you throw 97 and you are behind the hitters and you can control the situation, but when you are not throwing 97 and 98, and you are behind, and wild and out of control, you are going to get in trouble," Guillen said. Todd Linden went 4-for-5 and scored two runs and Ray Durham doubled in a run for the Giants. Ryan Klesko also had three hits. San Francisco starter Matt Cain had his longest outing of the spring, going 5 2-3 innings. He gave up three runs and six hits. Tadahito Iguchi hit a grand slam for the White Sox, and Darin Erstad went 2-for-3. Notes:@ Chicago optioned infielder Josh Fields, outfielders Jerry Owens and Ryan Sweeney and right-hander Sean Tracey to Triple-A Charlotte. Left-hander pitcher Gio Gonzalez, catcher Gustavo Molina and infielder Robert Valido were reassigned to minor league camp.
